Massage Therapist Website Rescue

A massage therapist contacted me with a frustrating situation. A friend had built her website for free, but that person was no longer available to help. She had completely lost control of her website - no login credentials, no way to make updates, and no idea how to regain access.

Detective Work

I began by examining the site's code, monitoring network requests, and checking DNS records and WHOIS information. This investigation revealed the site was built using a white-label website builder called Dappr (specifically bedappr.com) through an agency.

We managed to reset her password and gain access to the Dappr account, but discovered her account was severely restricted. She couldn't make any changes or even view important settings - the site was effectively locked down.

Taking Back Control

Further research showed her domain was registered through Bluehost. We reset the password for that account using her email address and successfully took control of her domain name ambersevolutionmassage.com.

With domain access secured, I built her a completely new WordPress website that preserved all the content from her previous site. The new site not only looked better but, most importantly, gave her complete control over her online presence.

You can see what the old site looked like in this Web Archive snapshot.

Reconnecting Business Systems

One critical issue we discovered was that her appointment booking system (massagebook.com) had become disconnected from her website. This meant she was losing potential customers who tried to schedule massages through her site.

I properly integrated her booking system with the new WordPress site, ensuring that customer appointments would flow directly into her business management system.

Once everything was ready, I updated the DNS records to point to the new site, completing the transition. She was thrilled to regain control of her online presence and stop losing customers due to the disconnected systems.
